Echoes of Ancient is a platform adventure game where a young boy, guided by a mystical Sanxingdui mask, embarks on a journey to break the curse on his village. By communicating with nature and utilizing herbs to heal, he uncovers forbidden secrets that blur the line between salvation and danger, while striving to restore harmony between humanity and the natural world.

Level Design

Logline:

With the aid of a peculiar mask, a young boy embarks on a journey to break the curse on his village. Instead, he stumbles upon secrets that he should have never discovered.

Level-1

Level-2

 The protagonist acquires the mask, and subsequent levels utilize the mask's abilities.  

The protagonist enters the forest, collects herbs, and gains experience from healing the sick.

Level-3

In the mysterious relics, the protagonist earns even more experience.

1. Save the Village:  
  - Communicate with nature and wield mystical powers to heal the frail villagers and lift the curse on the village.

2. Explore the Mysterious Relics of the Shang Dynasty:  
  - Investigate hidden ancient ruins in the jungle, uncovering secrets related to the Sanxingdui mask and ancient culture while enhancing Felix’s ability to communicate with nature.

Game Mechanics

Nature Communication System:

  - Acquire different mystical abilities by wearing the mask.

  - As the protagonist completes more tasks, he gains higher growth points.

Example of Mystical Abilities: Communicate with nature, heal ailments, and summon animals to help solve tasks.

Abilities Visualization:  

   - When utilizing these abilities, Felix has different forms 

Example of utilize abilities : when communicating with nature, he radiates a green magical glow, guiding plants to shine and dropping herbs.

 

Puzzle System:  

   - Combine exploration of ancient ruins with puzzle-solving that requires using nature communication abilities to solve environmental challenges. 

   - Example mechanics include:

     - Guiding plant growth to access the next platform.

     - Making sounds to attract animals or directing animal movements to help unlock new areas.

 

Growth System:  

   - By completing good deeds (healing villagers), the character earns experience points, progressively unlocking higher-tier skills.
